Detlev Salon is a Davines Flagship salon located in beautiful Coconut Grove, FL . Our culture is based on teamwork. We believe in continued education and hold ourselves to the highest standards technically and in customer service.
Company History
Founder, Detlev Gessner has more than 40 years of experience in hair design and color, and is an industry leader and color educator throughout the United States.
Detlev was born and raised in Germany where he was formally trained as a stylist and where he achieved the certification of Master Stylist, the highest national credentials a stylist can achieve.
In 1988, Detlev brought his talent to the Miami area where he’s had the privilege of working with celebrities such as Hillary Clinton, Tipper Gore, Nestor Torres and Sally Jessy Raphael. Present salon clients include talk-show host Cristina Saralegui, who is known as the Oprah of Spanish-language television.
In February 2013, Detlev Gessner opened Detlev Salon in Coconut Grove. The success of the new salon sparked Detlev’s desire to offer the salon experience to all of his clients so in September 2013 Detlev merged his Gables Hair Studio into the Detlev Salon in Coconut Grove.
